Youth Council Online Meeting

7:30pm First Monday of Each Month via Skype. 


The first Monday of each month anyone who wants to chat about what is going on with youth events, in the area, in the province, in the United Church and beyond are welcome to join the conversation via Skype.


This is open to anyone who wants to be apart of the conversation; no age, experience, knowledge necessary.

Scott Woods Concert

May 24, 2012, 7pm at Sunnybrook United Church,

Red Deer, AB


Canadian Fiddle Champion, Scott Woods and his band pay tribute to Fiddle Legends.

This is a fun-filled two hour variety show feating old time fiddling, traditional country, sensational step-dancing, and gospel music.
Special tribute to Legends like Al Cherney, DOn Messer, and King Ganam.

Proceeds go to Kasota East Camp and Youth Ministry.

The GO Project

Youth Grade 9 to age 19 and their leaders have opportunities to serve in another community in Canada (see list above), while practicing the gift of discernment; youth listen to the needs of their own community while serving another.

Youth at Conference

May 30-June 3, 2012, SAIT, Calgary AB


Youth at Conference is an event that happens alongside the Meeting of Alberta Northwest Conference. Each Presbytery is to send 4 youth (2 Jr high (grade 7-9) and 2 Sr high (grade 10-12)). Both age groups participate in the meeting and their own program.

Sr High youth are delegates, which mean they get to vote on the decisions being made during the meeting.

Jr High are corresponding members, which means they can speak to the issues but not vote.


Though the form says the application is due March 1, we of Red Deer Pres. are able to push that back to March 15.

April Day o’ Fun

April 28, 2012, Red Deer AB


This day gathering is for youth and leaders who are able and willing to offer their time to volunteer at the Red Deer District Food bank.

After volunteering the group will go to LaZerForce and play lazer tag. The evening will end with a supper (pizza and pop and maybe a salad).


The group will gather at Gaetz Memorial United Church but be working/playing around the city of Red Deer.


There is a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 participants, so please confirm as soon as you (or your group) can.


All participants (adult and youth) are to fill out the permission/medical/ forms

Youth Camping Retreat

June 15-17, 2012, Banks of highwood River


This is a weekend of camping and white water rafting being hosted by our friends at Balzac United/Foothills Presbytery.

Future Quest

August 4 - 18, Queen’s University, Kingston, ON


This summer expereince is for youth age 14-17 who want to explore theology, and leadership by challenging their body, mind and spirit. There is a maximum of 24 participants.
